RAIN SITE: CORNING PRESERVE BOAT LAUNCH
1pm - 9pm
For more than 17 years, the City of Albany Jazz Festival has featured a wealth of jazz greats, critically acclaimed up-and-coming artists and local favorites at the area’s most spectacular venues. This all-day concert features world-class music, vendors, great food & beverages. The Jazz Festival is an event for all ages- and admission is still free!
The City of Albany’s Riverfront Jazz Festival will celebrate its 17th year BUT for the first time we are proud to be partnering with Zero Waste Capital District, a newly formed volunteer coalition. With the combined efforts of Zero Waste Capital District and City of Albany Department of General Services teams we hope to make this the most environmentally friendly festival in the area! Representatives will also be on site to give helpful tips to festival attendees on how to compost and recycle at home.
You can help with our efforts to make the Jazz Festival a Zero Waste event by bringing reusable water bottles, cups and utensils from home and bringing your waste to one of our Zero Waste Stations at the Festival. At a Zero Waste Station, one of our friendly Zero Waste Ambassadors will help you sort your Festival waste into compost and recycling bins first, and then put what's left in the landfill basket. Together we can reduce the amount of waste we add to the almost-full Rapp Road Landfill, recycle material for further use, and put valuable nutrients back into the soil where they belong.
This event is produced with the help of community volunteers. Please contact us to be a part of this great experience.
Special ground rules in effect: No glass containers of any kind, recording of performances, animals or pets (excluding ADA-defined service animals). All City of Albany parks are now tobacco-free.
